Smith and Wesson 9mm FPC Carbine

New from Smith & Wesson is the FPC pistol caliber carbine. FPC is a folding stock, optics-ready 9mm carbine that ships with three double-stack M&P pistol magazines, including one 17-round and two 23-round magazines. The carbine features an integrated recoil buffer system for more control, as well as ½-28 threaded muzzle so you can attach and in-stock magazine storage for fast and efficient reloads. The horizontal folding mechanism of the FPC provides a locking latch to enable secured transport and prevents interference with most top-mounted optics or accessories. The controls of the FPC are quite similar to the M&P handguns, with the magazine release in the same spot as an M&P pistol There are M-Lok slots on the side of the handguard to allow for the easy addition of accessories, and a Picatinny rail on top to attach an optic.

Shooting Illustrated’s Executive Editor had a chance to check out the FPC carbine, and he says “I’ll admit my bias up front: I am a big fan of the Smith & Wesson M&P family, with numerous examples in my collection and a first generation as my daily carry. Having a pistol-caliber carbine that takes the same magazines and operates in much the same manner is a huge plus, as is the ability to add a red-dot sight to the carbine and still maintain the ability to fold the carbine. I look forward to testing the FPC extensively, and expect it to hold up quite well—like every Smith & Wesson I’ve tested.”
