Action-pistol shooting demands high-performance products that allow competitors to stay at the top of their game, and the new Federal Premium Syntech Action Pistol ammo provides the reliability and capability needed by top-level shooters.

“Syntech Action Pistol utilizes all the same technology as the standard Syntech line but is tailored specifically to the competitive pistol application,” said John Swenson, Federal Premium handgun ammunition design engineer. “During extended matches, the reduced fouling and cooler gun temperatures allow competitors to keep their focus on their performance and the match rather than equipment maintenance.”

The new Syntech Action Pistol ammo balances a number of factors, offering competition ammo that matches all the needs for reliability and power factor while still reducing felt recoil to provide more-rapid follow-up shots. In addition, the Action Pistol projectile features a flattened nose, which is designed to provide more knockdown power on steel targets.

An additional benefit of the new flat-nose bullet is reduced splashback of lead flakes off the steel. The flattened nose also benefits shooters using paper targets rather than steel, since the larger nose face produces a larger hole in the paper for scoring.

Like the company's original Syntech lineup, the Federal Premium Syntech Action Pistol line uses the innovative Total Synthetic Jacket, which replaces the traditional copper jacket with a complete layer of polymer that provides a range of enhanced benefits for shooters and their guns. The polymer jacket totally eliminates copper and lead fouling, reduces friction and heat build-up and extends the overall life of the firearm.

In addition, Syntech bullets are loaded in cartridges that contain clean-burning powders ignited by the company's Catalyst primer, a lead-free product that still produces reliable and consistent performance. Together, the Syntech lineup makes for a clean, safe product that provides heightened downrange performance.

Federal Premium Syntech Action Pistol ammo is available in 9 mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. Suggested retail prices for boxes of 50 rounds ranges from $18.95 for 9 mm to $30.95 for .45 ACP.
