For years, Savage Arms Rascal rifles have been popular training guns for young, first-time shooters and fans of the .22 LR cartridge. Now, Savage Arms has enhanced this well-liked, single-shot rimfire with the all-new Savage Arms Rascal Target rifle, designed to fit adult shooters with its full-size stock.

Unlike the company's earlier Rascal models, the Rascal Target features a hardwood stock designed for precision use. The non-adjustable design features a cutout at the rear and a wide, flat fore-end for use with sandbags. A vertical pistol grip enables users to put rearward pressure on the stock, bedding the gun into the shoulder for a more-stable firing position.

Set inside the one-piece hardwood stock is the classic Rascal action mated to a 16.125-inch heavy barrel that's topped with a threaded muzzle featuring 1/2-28 TPI threads compatible with most muzzle devices and rimfire suppressors on the market. The muzzle features an 11-degree target crown designed to optimize accuracy, while the barrel itself is rifled with a 1:16-inch right-hand twist that's built to help shooters get the most accuracy possible from their rimfire target loads. For those familiar with the classic Rascal rifle design, the action works the same in this Target model. The rifle cocks on the bolt lift and features single-shot capability, providing a feed ramp for users to manually load single rounds.

Also found in the Savage Arms Rascal Target rifle is the company's user-adjustable AccuTrigger, which provides a pull weight anywhere from 2.5 to 6 pounds. The rifle's receiver is topped with a one-piece Picatinny rail ready for a magnified optic. The overall length of the Rascal Target is 30.625 inches, and the gun weighs in at 4.5 pounds. The stock is available with only a matte-black finish, and each gun ships with a pair of ear plugs and a gun lock. The suggested retail price on the Savage Arms Rascal Target rifle is $314.
