Any firearm hobbyist knows the added frustration and extra work required to amass all the tools needed to perform basic maintenance work and add aftermarket components to their guns. For those needing essential tools on hand, the all-new Birchwood Casey Weekender Professional Gunsmith Kit provides many of the basic implements for tackling weekend work done on field and range guns.

The Weekender kit provides 27 different implements designed for use on handguns, rifles, shotguns and more, all packaged up and ready for your workbench. The kit ships inside a durable plastic case with a clear, hinged cover that locks shut with two easily pulled tabs that keep the lid secure.

Inside, users will find molded sections to store each of the 27 implements contained in the kit. Front and center is the hammer, which comes with one brass face and one Nylon face that reduces the chance of marring the metal finish on your firearm.

Along with the hammer, the kit includes 11 different punches. The two brass punches included with the kit measure 5/16" and 3/16", while the four steel-pin punches measure 1/16", 3/32", 1/8" and 5/32". Four separate roll-pin punches in the same diameter as the four steel-pin punches are also included with the kit, and one synthetic punch to avoid marring delicate elements on the firearm. Each punch features a textured surface for added grip and is marked with the punch size.

At the bottom of the kit, 12 different bits are offered that fit into a corresponding hex slot located at the bottom of the Nylon-and-brass hammer. Six hex bits are offered, measuring 5/64", 7/64", 1/8", 5/32", 1/16" and 3/32". In addition, the kit also includes two Philips driver bits, one No. 1 and a long-shank No. 2 bit. Three flat driver bits are included, measuring 3/16", 3/8" and 1/4". Finally, the kit includes Torx T10 and T15 bits.

To round out the 27-piece Birchwood Casey Weekender Professional Gunsmith Kit, the company included two small precision drivers, one with a Philips head and one with a flat head. Each driver includes its own textured handle that offers a secure grip for exacting work on small parts.

The suggested retail price on the Birchwood Casey Weekender Professional Gunsmith Kit is $36.
