Eley Ammunition, a British company, has long been known for the .22 LR ammo it produces for competition shooting. Now, the company has entered the commercial market with a new line of Rec Paks for shooters who want to enjoy a day on the range.

The company's goal with its new line is to produce the most accurate and reliable ammunition available to shooters at every level. The company will offer five different kinds of rimfire ammunition for shooters: High Velocity Hollow, Subsonic Hollow, Force, Contact and Action.

The company's High Velocity Hollow ammunition features a hollowpoint 38-rain bullet made from soft lead that is seated into a black oxide case. The company promises wide expansion at high velocity, aiming for 1,250 feet per second. Eley will also offer a subsonic alloy 38-grain bullet that will travel at 1,040 feet per second.

Eley's Force and Contact rounds are both produced with 42-grain bullets and are designed to cycle reliably in semi-automatic firearms. The Force round features a velocity of 1,250 feet per second and promises to deliver the energy required to reliably cycle a semi-auto action. The sub-sonic Contact round features a paraffin-wax coating that helps to cycle it through semi-auto actions and promises a velocity of 1,090 feet per second.

Finally, Eley will offer its Action round, which is designed as a multi-purpose ammo choice that provides the most accuracy and performance possible from a rimfire round. The Action bullet weighs 40 grains and clocks in at a velocity of 1,090 feet per second.

Each Rec Pak will give shooters 300 rounds of rimfire ammunition, and the lines will hit store shelves in March 2017.
