Huron Valley Guns—a 39,500-square-foot facility with indoor ranges—joined the growing list of the nation’s “guntry” clubs when it opened its doors on Oct. 28, 2017, in New Hudson, MI. It’s open to the public, although membership provides access to a long list of additional privileges and amenities. Those who sign up at the platinum or corporate level, for example, can use a lounge with wide-screen TV, observation window over ranges, pool table, shuffleboard, work stations and private bathrooms. It also has a separate restaurant. All membership levels can shoot on three 100-yard ranges rated for firearms chambered in all calibers up to .50 BMG.

Enthusiasts who haven’t signed up yet still have access to sixteen 25-yard ranges and a dozen at 50 yards, all rated for rifle use. Each have Action Target Mancom AWO retrievers and targets downrange can be programmed for varied presentations and even synchronized between lanes for timed-score comparisons and bragging rights between friends. A 9,000-square-foot showroom offers the latest and greatest and a Patriot Hall café offers food for members of the public.

Perhaps what sets the facility apart, though, is a 4,000-cigar humidor and classic barber shop. Both are great options while waiting for your background check to clear on a new gun.

The “guntry” club trend continues to grow across the nation, providing modern shooters with more exclusive experiences than ever before. The Frisco Gun Club in Texas, for example, offers 45,000-square feet of luxury, with 36 indoor firing lines and a VIP lounge. Virginia’s Elite Shooting Sports covers 65,000-square feet and, among its many amenities, offers eight 100-yard indoor rifle lanes. Construction on its shoot house begins soon, too. There are 24 firing lines inside Lock & Load Miami, where visitors can even rent automatic firearms for the short-term experience under the watchful eye of a range-safety officer.
