1. Lone Wolf Distributors’ Dusk Stripped Glock G19 Slide is available in several configurations and finishes to offer consumers ergonomic and practical enhancements over factory slides—the most noticeable is a milled RMR-footprint cut designed to accept many of today’s reflex-style red-dot sights. It also accepts standard Glock iron sights. Aggressive cocking serrations are incorporated into both the front and rear of the slide to enhance purchase. MSRP: $399.95; lonewolfdist.com

2. Machined from 416R stainless steel for durability, the True Precision Threaded Barrel for Glock G19 boasts practical features, including a proprietary broach-cut design and a SAAMI-spec chamber. Six grooves and 1:10-inch, RH-twist rifling allow for all ammo types—including cast lead—to be fired through it. The muzzle is threaded to 1/2x28 tpi to be compatible with most 9 mm muzzle devices on the market, or for an additional charge you can add the company’s micro comp. MSRP: $179 to $199.99; true-precision.com

3. A drop-in replacement for the factory polymer trigger, the Timney Alpha Competition Series is now available for Gen5 Glocks. It uses all stock parts and springs. Options include a choice of two different, straight-faced aluminum trigger shoes, along with eight different colors. A Teflon- nickel coating on the trigger bar and sear significantly reduces friction to provide a smoother-feeling trigger with noticeably less reset and a crisp, 3-pound pull weight. MSRP: $149.99; timneytriggers.com

4. Elite Tactical Systems’ Omega 17-Round Glock G17 Magazine features hardened-steel feedlips for greater durability and enhanced reliability. Verifying magazine capacity and readiness is easy thanks to its translucent-polymer body, which allows users to see the number and  type of rounds on hand at a glance. MSRP: $25.99; etsgroup.us

5. Made of a durable, reinforced polymer with a rubber overmold, Magpul’s PMag GL L-Plate offers improvement over your Glock’s factory floorplates. Its oversize design provides an uncompromising grip when the magazine is being inserted into your pistol or should a stubborn magazine refuse to drop free. Available in packs of three, the GL L-Plate installs easily without tools—in place of the original floorplate. MSRP: $19.95; magpul.com

MIM Myths

Metal-injection molding (MIM) creates complex, durable and reliable metal parts in things we use daily. Its ability to churn out high volumes at reduced cost endeared it to the firearm industry decades ago. Despite that fact, gun companies we asked about the process were tight lipped.
