Smith & Wesson continues to expand its lineup of M&P M2.0 handguns, having rolled out an even shorter variant of its popular M2.0 Compact pistol. This provides consumers with a concealed-carry option that's even more concealable than the company's first Compact version launched in September 2017.

“When we launched the M&P M2.0 Compact pistol series with a 4″ barrel last September, we knew it was just the first step in expanding the popular Compact pistol size offering," said Jan Mladek, general manager of Smith & Wesson and M&P brands. "During the development process, there was considerable interest in a shorter, 3.6-inch barrel concept, and with this introduction, we’re now able to offer our consumers a lighter, shorter compact pistol for concealed carry.  While the barrel length is shorter, the M&P M2.0 Compact 3.6-inch pistol maintains the 15-round, 9 mm magazine capacity of the Compact series – an important requirement for many of our customers.”

Like other Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 handguns, the new 3.6-inch M&P M2.0 Compact is equipped with the enhanced trigger designed to provide an audible and easily felt reset that enables faster follow-up shots. The frame features aggressive texturing designed to anchor the gun in the hand during rapid strings of fire, and four included grip inserts help consumers fine-tune the contours of the grip to best fit their hand.

Other stand-out features of Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 guns include an 18-degree grip angle that's optimized to provide the most intuitive point of aim. The guns are also designed with a lowered bore axis that works to reduce muzzle rise, a feature that's especially important in the shortened slide and frame of the 3.6-inch M&P M2.0 Compact. An integrated stainless-steel chassis found in the polymer frame also mitigates flexing under fire.

Each 3.6-inch M&P M2.0 Compact ships with standard three-dot sights, two magazines and two magazine-extension sleeves for use with full-size M&P magazines. The suggested retail price on the new gun is $569.
