Hornady recently donated $39,179.50 to the GRACE Cancer Foundation in Grand Island, NE, to help the organization in its support of local cancer patients and their families. The funds represent a percentage of sales from Critical Defense Lite, the pink-tipped ammunition produced by Hornady. In addition to the donation, support from Hornady throughout the year includes serving as event sponsor for the GRACE New Year’s Eve Gala.

“Cancer impacts not only the person receiving the diagnosis but the entire family,” said Hornady Vice President Jason Hornady. “As a family-owned and -operated business, we applaud the GRACE Cancer Foundation in its support of patients and families fighting this deadly disease.”

Established in 2008, the GRACE Cancer Foundation provides emotional and financial support to cancer patients who live within 40 miles of Grand Island, NE, or are currently under the care of the Grand Island Cancer Treatment Center. The organization’s efforts include assistance with medical expenses for the patients, household bills that can prove an added burden during their care, gas cards to ensure transportation is never an issue at this critical time, food cards and more. Each year, it also awards a pair of $2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have an immediate family member, or are themselves, affected by cancer.

Critical Defense features the FTX bullet with its patented Flex Tip, which aids expansion and eliminates clogging when passing through clothing. Critical Defense Lite offers an effective, reduced-recoil option for any shooter looking to minimize felt recoil of their lightweight, compact, personal protection firearm.

Founded in 1949, Hornady Manufacturing Company is a family-owned business headquartered in Grand Island, NE, that proudly manufactures products made in the USA. The company is a world leader in bullet, ammunition, reloading tool, accessory and security product design and manufacturing.
