SIG Sauer added a new caliber to its ever-expanding line of Match Grade Elite Performance ammunition, providing a new option in the hot 6.5 Creedmoor and giving long-range shooters ammunition designed for peak performance.

“The 6.5 Creedmoor is one of today’s most popular cartridges with competition shooters and hunters alike,” said Dan Powers, president of the SIG Sauer Ammunition Division.  “It is an impressive, flat-shooting round that delivers precision in challenging, windy conditions.”

The new 6.5 Creedmoor ammo offering features a high-quality, precision-made Open-Tip Match cartridge. Each round is loaded with a 140-grain MatchKing projectile from Sierra Bullets and are engineered to provide a muzzle velocity of 2,625 feet per second with a muzzle energy of 2,142 foot-pounds.

This new ammo offering is tailor-made for shooting in windy conditions, providing shooters with a flat trajectory, thanks to the round's high ballistic coefficient. An added benefit of the 6.5 Creedmoor is the notable absence of significant recoil compared to larger calibers used for long-range precision shooting.

The new cartridge offering is provided as part of SIG Sauer's Match Grade Elite Performance ammunition, which is constructed with a few stand-out features that make it a must-have for precision shooters looking to excel on the range.

The cases themselves feature state-of-the-art metallurgy and are specifically optimized to provide the same level of retention on the projectile every time, so shooters know they can count on consistent performance and cartridge length. The cases are filled with specially formulated propellant, which is developed to provide consistent, stable performance in any temperatures, so shooters will have a muzzle velocity that remains unchanged by the weather. Finally, each cartridge is loaded with high-quality primers that minimize variations in velocity.

All of SIG Sauer's rifle ammunition is produce on machinery that is monitored with electromechanic equipment to ensure that consistency is preserved from round to round. The suggested retail price on the new 6.5 Creedmoor Match Grade Elite Performance ammunition is $27.99 per box of 20 rounds.
