New from Holosun is the SCS-MOS (Solar Charging Sight), a pistol-mounted reflex sight that features an internal, solar-rechargeable battery. Like all other Solar-Safe Holosun optics, it combines self-regulating intensity to ambient light, but the SCS-MOS also has a solar panel that recharges the internal battery.
The SCS-MOS was designed from the ground up to match the form and style of the Glock MOS platform, with serrations on the optic body that fit flush with the factory Glock slide serrations. It also features a low-profile deck, so standard Glock iron sights can still be used with the optic. This system, when combined with an Auto-mode that adjusts reticle intensity instantly, means that under the right conditions, your battery will last indefinitely. The Auto-mode also includes an override function.
The SCS-MOS has a grade 5 Titanium IP67 rated housing and uses an MRS (Multi-Reticle System) to give users the choice between a 2-MOA green dot, 32-MOA green circle or a 2-MOA green dot/32-MOA green circle combination. The optic has 30+/- MOA travel adjustments with 1 MOA click adjustment, with windage and elevation setting on the top and side of the optic housing.
The 1.93x1.03x0.91 inch housing has a large 0.77x0.58 inch viewing window, which helps keep the weight down to 1.3 ounces. The window has been multi-coated to reduce glare, limit streaking and improve clarity when acquiring a target. A battery life indicator provides remaining battery life when powered on, and the internal battery can last for up to 20,000 hours in a worst-case scenario.
