First Look: Pulsar Thermion XG50 Thermal Riflescope

Pulsar recently introduced its latest optic, the Thermion XG50 Thermal Riflescope. The new scope features a BAE sensor with color palettes and built-in recording with audio, allowing users to record their best moments in the field. Likewise, the new riflescope utilizes Wi-Fi connectivity and is compatible with the Stream Vision App, allowing users to wirelessly stream live video.

The Thermion XG50 produces highly-detailed images thanks to a uncooled, 640x480px thermal sensor, and has eight different color viewing modes, 13 variable electronic reticles, a stadiametric rangefinder, and defective pixel repair feature. Likewise, users have access to five rifle profiles with 50 zero saves, as well as picture-in-picture digital zoom and rock, forest, or identification viewing modes.

Clear and crisp, the XG50 features a 1024x768 AMOLED display with 8X digital zoom, 2X, 4X, and 8X stepped zoom, and one-shot zeroing with freeze function. Conveniently, the XG50 has a Display Off function, so that during short periods of inactivity users can "short press" the power button, powering down the device without interrupting other operating functions and allowing for a faster restart when the action picks up again.

The XG50 utilizes a B-Pack mini power supply as well as an internal battery, both of which are rechargeable. The 18650 Li-ion batteries are rated for up to 7 hours of battery life, allowing users to stay afield longer. Capable of conquering any climate and weather conditions—including intense rain, snowfall, or immersion up to 3 feet of water for 30 minutes—the XG50 is IPX7 waterproof-rated and has a frost-resistant AMOLED display. The scope can operate from -13 degrees  to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
