New for 2019: Ruger SR1911 Competition Pistol

posted on July 23, 2019

Ruger is rolling out its new new Ruger Custom Shop SR1911 Competition pistol, chambered in .45 Auto. The single-stack SR1911 is built for the highest levels of competition and is perfect for competitor, collector or target shooter alike.

"I am excited about this addition to our Custom Shop lineup," said Team Ruger captain Doug Koenig. "Just like its 9 mm counterpart, this .45 ACP model is full of industry-leading features and fully machined, hand-fitted parts. A must-have for all 1911 aficionados! I cannot wait to hit the competition circuit with it."

The slide and frame of the SR1911 Competition are hand-fitted to ensure that the action is tight, smooth and accurate. The barrel, which features a polished throat, fitted barrel lug and target crown is also hand fitted for a more-precise lock-up.

The Custom Shop SR1911 is built with premium components, including a Koenig Shooting Sports low-mass hammer and competition sear, flat-faced match trigger shoe, precision-machined Cylinder & Slide disconnector, forged slide stop, integral plunger tube and hand-tuned sear spring. The stainless-steel frame has a black-nitride finish that contrasts with the two-tone, hand-polished, stainless and black-nitrided slide. Textured G10 grips and Ruger Custom Shop markings finish off this distinctive, rugged and reliable match pistol.

Standard features on the Custom Shop SR1911 Competition pistol include a fiber-optic front sight and adjustable serrated rear target sight, undercut trigger guard and a beavertail grip safety for a comfortable high hold, along with an ambidextrous safety and extended magazine release.

The .45 ACP Ruger SR1911 Competition pistol ships in a waterproof, fitted hard case and includes one, 8-round and one, 7-round competition magazine, a Ruger Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity, challenge coin, cleaning cloth, gun peg and decal. MSRP on the pistol is $2,499, and more information is available at
