Getting in needed training time is always a challenge, especially when there is no range nearby for live-fire practice. You can do dry-fire training at home in order to keep your skills up to date, and doing dry fire practice with a replica gun adds an extra level of safety to your training. The new SIG Sauer ProForce P229 Airsoft is designed give owners of the SIG P229 a safe training tool for use at home, as well as provide safe fun for the entire family.

The ProForce P229 is a full-size, metal-frame airsoft pistol that is the official training firearm of the U.S. Coast Guard. The pistol has an ergonomic polymer grip that mimics the grip of the P229 pistols used by the Coast Guard. The ProForce P229 is powered by green gas and features a full-metal slide with realistic blowback, along with a drop magazine which holds 25 rounds of 6 mm polymer or biodegradable BBs. Up front is a Picatinny accessory rail that allows for the mounting of a laser or tactical flashlight, and the slide mounts fixed front and rear white-dot sights that facilitate quick target acquisition.

The SIG AIR ProForce P229 has a muzzle velocity of up to 295 fps, and a muzzle energy of .8 joules when using a .20-gram polymer BB. These results may vary depending on temperature and altitude.

What is the Greatest Defensive Skill?

You can say what you want to about your favorite defensive school or those advanced-fighting techniques you learned, but the greatest defensive skill that a person can develop is simply awareness. I will freely admit that developing effective awareness is anything but simple, but being able to spot trouble before it is close enough to get in your face will certainly save you from a lot of trouble and possibly even some pain and grief.
