Adding a additional branch to its popular 10/22 family, Ruger introduced the all-new 10/22 Target Lite in 2018, complete with a thumbhole-style laminate stock and a number of other enhanced features.

Like all of the guns under the 10/22 umbrella, the Ruger 10/22 Target Lite is built on the classic, tested 10/22 action, complete with a 10-round rotary magazine and compatible with a wide number of aftermarket magazines on the market today. Each receiver is paired with a cold hammer-forged barrel that's surrounded by an aluminum sleeve that maintains barrel strength while reducing the weight of the overall platform. The barrel features a threaded muzzle with a 1/2x28 TPI thread pitch compatible with most of today's 22-caliber rimfire sound suppressors and muzzle devices. The six-groove barrel features a 1:16-inch right-hand rate of twist and measures 16.13 inches in overall length.

The action is set inside of a wood-laminate stock available with either a red-and-black or a black-and-gray color scheme. The stock features a thumbhole cutout that allows for a pistol-style grip on the gun, and a raised comb allows a shooter's eye to be in-line with a mounted optic. A scope-base adapter designed for use with Weaver- and .22 tip-off style mounts ships with each rifle. At the butt end of the stock, spacers allow owners to customize the length of pull for a comfortable fit.

Each Ruger 10/22 Target Lite is equipped with the company's tuned BX-Trigger, providing shooters with a 2.5- to 3-pound pull with a short overtravel distance and a crisp, tactile reset point. The trigger is housed inside of a glass-filled polymer assembly designed to provide enhanced durability and reliability when used out in the elements. The head-stabilized polymer is formulated for abrasion- and impact-resistance, ensuring consumers that their go-to rimfire rifle can withstand the bruises and abuses of the range or the field. The rifle is also equipped with a traditional cross-bolt manual safety as well as an extended magazine-release lever.

The Ruger 10/22 Target Lite rimfire rifle measures 35.25 inches in overall length and weighs in at 5 pounds. The suggested retail price on the gun is $649.
