With the launch of the new Century Arms Draco NAK9 AK pistol, the company combined a popular firearm platform with one of the most well-used magazines on the market.

“The Draco NAK9 fills a void in the U.S. market for a high quality Com-Bloc 9 mm AK pistol,” said Jason Karvois, Century Arms director of sales. “Because it readily accepts Glock-brand 9 mm and aftermarket Glock magazines, many consumers can utilize the magazines they already own in their new 9 mm AK pistol.”

Incorporating the same look, feel and controls as a standard AK-platform rifle, the Draco NAK9 features a stamped-steel receiver combined with a traditional dust cover. At the top of the dust cover, consumers will find a Picatinny-rail segment for the attachment of optics. In addition to the optics-ready rail, the pistol is also equipped with traditional AK-style iron sights.

Like AK-style rifles, the right side of the receiver features a selector lever to move between "safe" and "fire." The Glock-compatible magazine well uses the same style release latch as standard AK rifles, allowing those familiar with the company's rifles to maintain continuity of operation. Located at the rear of the receiver is a sling mount for retention. The Draco is also compatible with all standard AKM handguards on the market.

The Century Arms Draco NAK9 is manufactured in Romania and features an 11.14-inch barrel with a mil-standard 14x1 mm threaded muzzle that accepts muzzle devices and sound suppressors. The pistol operates on a simple, reliable blowback operation. The overall length of the gun is 19.1 inches, and the pistol weighs in at 6.38 pounds unloaded.

The Draco NAK9 ships with a single 33-round Glock 9 mm pistol magazine, and the gun is compatible with all Glock G17 and G19 magazines on the market. The pistol is available starting from January 2018, selling at a suggested retail price of $724.99.
