Wilson Combat started 2017 off with the introduction of four new handgun models, all of which are designed for concealed carry. The four new models are the EDC 9 Professional, the EDC 9 Compact, the CQB Commander Compact and the Ultralight Carry Commander.
The EDC 9 Professional is the company's latest 9 mm 1911 concealed carry pistol and features Wilson Combat's new Enhanced Reliability System. This new system features a spring-loaded external extractor designed to improve extraction in all conditions with all kinds of ammunition. The gun also features a match-grade single-lug barrel that works to reduce cycling friction, enhance slide velocity and improve reliability.
Other features of the EDC 9 Professional include a 10-round capacity, a barrel length of 4 inches and an empty weight of 39.6 ounces. The gun also features an integral accessory rail on the frame. The suggested retail price on the new EDC 9 Professional is $3,695.
The company also launched the EDC 9 Compact, which includes many of the same features as the EDC 9 Professional, including the improved reliability system. Both guns also come with an accuracy guarantee of 1.5 inches at 25 yards. The EDC 9 Compact features a shorter height of 5.1 inches over the Professional's height of 5.6 inches, cutting half an inch off for added concealment. The magazine capacity of the Compact is nine rounds. The suggested retail price is $3,695.
Wilson Combat also introduced the new CQB Commander Compact, which is billed as the ultimate concealed carry gun for the 1911 traditionalist. The pistol features a Commander-sized slide with a 4.25-inch barrel that is paired with Wilson Combat's Compact frame, giving the pistol a classic look and feel. The gun is available with either a steel frame or an aluminum frame.
The CQB Commander Compact is available in both .45 ACP and 9 mm and features an overall length of 7.85 inches and a height of 4.9 inches, along with an unloaded weight of 36.5 ounces. The base price for the .45 ACP is $3,600, while the 9 mm model sells for $3,710.
Finally, the Ultralight Carry Commander is offered for 2017 and is equipped with a number of performance features aimed at making the ULC Commander ideal for concealed carry. The slide features a 4.25-inch barrel matched to an aluminum-allow frame. The Armor-Tuff frame coating is designed to enhance the durability of the frame and protect it from hard use. The company also offers options on chamber fluting, slide serrations, and a reversed-crowned barrel. The base price for the .45 ACP is $3,825, while the 9 mm model starts at $3,935.
