Among precision-rifle shooters, the .300 Norma is growing in popularity due to its enhanced long-range performance, even catching the attention of the U.S. Special Operations Command, which selected the round as its Advanced Sniper Rifle Cartridge. Joining the growing number of rifles chambered in the round is the new MasterPiece Arms MPA .300 Norma Bolt-Action Rifle.

The rifle is constructed on the company's MPA Tactical Chassis System, which is CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and features a specially designed V-bedding system that provides room for a glass-bedded action. The chassis includes a number of high-end elements that are perfect for long-range shooters, such as a built-in level, thumb notch, MPA Enhanced Vertical Grip and several sections of Picatinny rail located on the top and bottom of the chassis. The entire system is finished in a Cerakote coating for a custom look and added durability.

Attached to the chassis is the company's buttstock design, which includes custom-adjustable length of pull and comb height, allowing owners to build a precision fit for the best possible comfort. The adjustable components are secured in-place through several screws integrated into the chassis design, ensuring a solid lock-up. The stock also incorporates a built-in monopod that enables shooters to build a solid position.

Set inside the chassis system is a Remington-700-style Curtis Custom Axiom Long Action, which is then mated to a Spencer/MPA Heavy Varmint barrel machined from 416RQ stainless steel. The barrel measures 26 inches long and can be had in either a 1:9-inch or 1:10-inch twist rate. The muzzle end is threaded with a 5/8x24 TPI thread pitch and includes an MPA Muzzle Brake for enhanced recoil control. The action also includes a Curtis Spiral Fluted one-piece bolt, finished in a Diamond Like Coating for enhanced durability.

The MasterPiece Arms MPA .300 Norma Bolt-Action Rifle is fed using single-stack, common-pattern, long-action magazines designed by a company that makes such things. One five-round magazine is included with the rifle. The gun also comes equipped with a custom Trigger Tech trigger that's adjustable from 1-3 pounds. The weight of the chassis system is 5.35 pounds. The suggested retail price on the new MPA .300 Norma Bolt-Action Rifle starts at $3,275.
