SureFire announced the release of a brand-new G2X flashlight at the end of 2017, equipped with the company's MaxVision technology that incorporates a proprietary reflector design to widen the output beam to match a user's field of view.

The SureFire G2X-MV is constructed with the company's Nitrolon polymer housing, which is purpose-built to withstand the abuse that comes with daily use. The body design is resistant to bumps and scratches and cannot corrode, unlike other metal-housing designs.

At the output end of the light, users will find a bezel made from aircraft-grade aluminum with a hard-anodized finish that protects against wear and the environment. Inside of the bezel, SureFire uses a polycarbonate lens that's treated with a special optical coating to provide as much light transmission as possible. The use of the polycarbonate material also makes the light much more resistant to heavy use and abuse in the field.

At its highest output setting, the SureFire G2X-MV flashlight produces 800 lumens of light. The light also has a secondary low setting that produces only 15 lumens, giving users the option for illumination at close ranges and in discreet environments. With the use of the company's MaxVision beam reflector, the light beam is spread out evenly in a span that covers most observable area in a viewer's front. The beam contains no focused hot spots and instead, provides smooth, even illumination over a wide area.

At the tail end of the G2X-MV, users will find a traditional push-button tailcap switch. The first click on the switch activates the low-light 15-lumen setting. Pressing the cap within two seconds of the first activation will provide all 800 lumens for total area illumination.

The SureFire G2X-MV is powered by two CR123A batteries and, with batteries installed, weighs in at 3.9 ounces. At its highest setting, the light provides 1.5 hours of runtime. With the low-light 15-lumen setting, battery life is 52 hours. The overall length of the light is 4.87 inches and bezel diameter is 1.1 inches.

The suggested retail price on the SureFire G2X-MV is $109.
