Colt announced that its lineup for 2017 would include a Delta Elite Rail Gun, adding versatility to the Delta Elite line, which is chambered in the powerful 10 mm round.

"The Delta Elite started its life as tactical option for 1911 enthusiasts who required more stopping power than your traditional .45 ACP," said Justin Baldini, product director for Colt. "In that world, an accessory rail makes a lot of sense.

The Delta Elite is also a great option for hunters and outdoorsmen who want a firearm with enough power to take down medium-sized game. The accessory rail gives those users an option to mount a flashlight for added visibility.

The redesigned Delta Elite is made entirely from stainless steel and features many of the same upgrades found on previous models. The gun comes with an upswept beavertail grip safety, an extended thumb safety, composite grips and Novak white-dot sights.

The suggested retail price for the Colt Delta Elite Rail Gun is $1,299.
