Chocolate and peanut butter. Eggs and bacon. Coffee and, well, more coffee. Some things just go well together. Like the pairing of Daniel Defense and Oakley Sunglasses. It's a natural coupling of two manufacturers of top-notch products that complement each other well.

The Gascan sunglasses by Oakley feature what the company calls a Plutonite lens, which is by itself "optically pure" to maximize clarity and impart impact resistance. The eyewear "meet[s] or exceed[s] the testing standards of the American National Standards Institute for optical clarity, visual fidelity, and impact resistance" according to the manufacturer.

In addition to protection against impact, the lenses are also UV-resistance, important when considering that the majority of rifle shooting will be performed outdoors. Guarding your eyes from the sun's rays and stray brass is one thing; looking cool is just a bonus.

In addition to the distinctive Oakley styling, set apart by the trademark "O" on the side of the frames, these glasses have the Daniel Defense nested "double-D" in the lower right corner of the right lens. While most eyewear-savvy folks will recognize the Oakley logo, the "DD" might go unnoticed by all but the most observant shooters.
