Cabot Guns introduced its latest custom 1911 variant, the Vintage Classic, which features a vintage, old-style look and modern aerospace design and construction for the ultimate blend of the Old World and the New World.

“The 1911 truly symbolizes the might of freedom’s march and its resilience against the tests of time,” said Rob Bianchin, CEO of Cabot Guns. “It would look at home on the bed stand of a home in 1945 or on the belt of a sheriff in Texas in the 1930s. Today, it has evolved, been remade and reimagined, but it remains an ever-present testament to the superiority of design. It’s an ode to the original vision of John Moses Browning.”

According to the company, the vintage patina finish was discovered by accident through a unique thermal process. Through this process, each gun develops a slightly different finish, giving each individual gun a unique character.

Each Vintage Classic 1911 from Cabot starts as a solid block of 416 stainless steel billet. Through computer-controlled machining, craftsmen create each part individually and finish them in the company's proprietary hardening process that is coupled with a new thermal chemical treatment that creates the finish found on the Vintage Classic.

The slide features full-length front-to-rear slide-top serrations and a gold dot front sight, along with a low-mount fixed or adjustable rear sight. The slide is finished with Cabot's trademark Trinity Stripes, which ensure proper purchase when racking the slide.

The frame features 24 line-per-inch Rhombus checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing. The magazine well is beveled, and the gun is available with Checkered Turkish Walnut or American Holly grips. an aluminum wire-cut Tristar trigger finishes off the look of the gun.

The Vintage Classic 1911 is available in Government and Commander sizes. Cabot's Commander 1911 features the company's Full-Cycle Technology, which retains the same cycle length and timing found in a standard Government-size 1911. Both guns feature hand-fitted match-grade barrels. Suggested retail price on the Cabot Vintage Classic 1911 is $3,995.
