Keeping your defensive firearm in a secure location when not actively under your control is a good idea, both from a safety standpoint but also from a loss-prevention one. Depending on what gear you have with your firearm, it's quite possible you could have significantly more than a thousand dollars invested in your EDC gear - so why not keep it safe?

Hornady's RAPiD Safe 2600 offers four different methods for accessing your stowed firearm. There's a traditional circular/barrel key, of course, but also three different RFID-enabled methods. There's a wristband you can wear, a keyfob you attach to your keychain and two stickers that can be placed on a phone case, wallet or other such item. Each of these methods requires close proximity to the safe (1 inch or closer) to activate the release.

Worried that the power might prevent the safe from opening? There's a battery backup to keep things going even in the event of a power outage. Should the batteries die while the power is out, the safe can always be opened with the physical key. There's even a cable that attaches securely inside the safe to secure it to a fixed object like a bedpost or a seat frame in a vehicle.

MSRP: $199.47.
