While the current situation for rimfire ammunition is less-than-optimal, it has an unintended consequence. With the severe drought in .22 LR on the market, premium ammunition manufacturer Norma has gotten into the business. While we might lament the dearth of .22 LR on store shelves, getting more players on the ammunition-making field will be a good thing in the long run.

NormaUSA recently expanded its product line to include common calibers such as .223 Rem., .308 Win. and .22 LR to the TAC product line. The company long known for high-quality hunting ammunition decided to apply the same formula to popular fodder for the .22LR as well as common chamberings for the AR platform, and the TAC-22 was part of that introduction.

A thorough evaluation of the TAC-22 line appears in Shooting Illustrated's July 2014 issue. It was found to be supremely accurate and functioned well in a variety of .22 LR firearms and conversion kits.
