Springfield Armory has unveiled a new family of pistols called the XD-M Elite series. Similar to its standard lineup of XD(M) handguns, the new Elite series takes the polymer platform and incorporates numerous upgrades and improvements.

At the center of the new striker-fired XD-M Elite is the Match Enhanced Trigger Assembly (META) system. It features a flat face and integral overtravel stop. In addition to the trigger pull tuned to the pistol’s fully cocked striker, the XD-M Elite also has increased-capacity magazines holding up to 22 rounds of 9 mm. Furthermore, removable extended and flared magwells are present in order to make ultra-fast reloads a breeze. Other upgrades include an ambidextrous slide stop and improved slide serrations, with enlarged grasping grooves for slip-free purchase.

Four models are available ranging from competition-ready and tactical variants to duty-sized and CCW-ready versions. Models include:
  • XD-M Elite Precision (MSRP: $653)
  • XD-M Elite Tactical OSP (MSRP: $709)
  • XD-M Elite 4.5" (MSRP: $559)
  • XD-M Elite 3.8" (MSRP: $559)

A 5.25-inch hammer-forged barrel and extended slide with an adjustable rear/fiber optic front-sight system make up the Elite Precision while the XD-M Elite Tactical OSP sports a hammer-forged 5.34-inch threaded barrel with thread protector and a slide capable of mounting red-dot optics and suppressor-height iron sights.

The Elite 4.5" and Elite 3.8" feature “short” magwell systems that mate up with 20+1 capacity 9 mm magazines. They also come with U-Dot rear sights combined with fiber-optic fronts. Featuring a standard-length slide and 4.5" hammer-forged barrel is the XD-M Elite 4.5", while the XD-M Elite 3.8" is topped off with a shortened 3.8" hammer-forged barrel and matching compact slide for enhanced concealability. All four variants come packed with two magazines.
