October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and many members of the firearm industry are stepping up to the plate to help researchers find the cure. Leupold has a limited quantity of “Lady Leupold” scopes available exclusively through its Custom Shop this month, and all proceeds from the sales are being donated directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The optics are classic Leupold VX-1 3-9x40 mm riflescopes that feature a custom pink ring, among other aesthetic changes. Like all of Leupold’s VX-1 riflescopes, these variants feature a 1-inch maintube, a versatile 3:1 zoom ratio erector system that’s ideal for any situation, a generous eyebox and a multi-coated lens system that delivers edge-to-edge clarity.

“Each and every day cancer impacts countless families across the globe,” said Michael Wunnicke, director of marketing for Leupold. “October serves as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it’s also a reminder that there’s always more to be done to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation and other groups like it that are actively seeking a cure. We’re proud to contribute to the cause in any way that we can.” Orders can be placed directly through the Leupold Custom Shop by calling (888) 629-4811 or by e-mailing [email protected]

Streamlight has donated more than $700,000 over the past decade to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BRCF). This year alone the company has donated $30,000 in sales proceeds from its pink Nano Light key chain light, the pink Siege AA ultra-compact lantern, and the pink Strion LED tactical light.

“We are so proud to be a part of BCRF’s efforts to raise awareness and support research to find a cure for breast cancer,” said Streamlight Vice President of Sales and Marketing Michael F. Dineen. “Several of our employees are breast cancer survivors, and we were determined to promote this worthy cause to help find a cure. We are so pleased that our collective contributions to date have resulted in some 14,000 research hours.”

If you’re heading to Sin City this month, consider heading to Machine Guns Vegas and booking a Femme Fatale experience. Twenty percent of the proceeds in October are being donated to the Pink Fund, which provides financial assistance to breast-cancer patients in need.

Why Lightweight Carbines Are a Game Changer

Technology and demand are driving a light-rifle trend that shows no signs of slowing down. Purpose-built, flyweight guns are a dream to carry and shoot, but the additional machining, exotic materials and manufacturing methods that can bring something like an AR rifle down to 4.5 pounds make it expensive.
