NRA Personal Protection Expo Features Star-Studded Lineup

The NRA Personal Protection Expo, which takes place Sept. 6 to 8 at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, TX, will include a hands-on workshop in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for self-defense hosted by Frank Mir—former two-time UFC heavyweight champion and current Bellator MMA heavyweight contender. The future hall of famer holds a black belt in the martial art and considered to be the greatest submission specialist in heavyweight history.

Tom Kier, recognized as a subject-matter expert by USSOCOM and holder of a Master Instructor rank in Sayoc Kali (“The Art of the Blade”), will present “Edged Weapons for Everyday Carry.” He brings 27 years of training in the system to the hands-on seminar that will teach the use and avoidance of combative edged weapons.

Combat Mindset” will be presented by Paul R. Howe, a 20-year Army veteran, former special operations team leader and instructor with combat experience in multiple venues. The seminar will encompass the mental, physical, technical, tactical and medical aspects of preparation for dealing with violent encounters.

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman—former psychology professor at West Point Military Academy, U.S. Army Ranger and paratrooper—brings unique qualifications to his in-depth look at the “Bullet Proof Mind for the Armed Citizen.” The writer and widely acclaimed speaker will address the role of an armed American citizen in the future challenges to our nation.

The NRA Personal Protection Expo is the nation’s premier event for personal protection, concealed carry and home defense products and education. More than 120 seminars and workshops—running between 2 and 4 hours each—will be available to attendees and the admission ticket is valid for all three days. The expansive exhibit hall will also showcase an array of firearms and accessories from some of the nation’s top manufacturers.
