For many, many years the Colt 1911 has been a popular handgun in America, partly because it was the handgun of choice for the United States military. In 1990 the Beretta M9 officially entered service with the U.S. military, replacing the 1911. It immediately gained favor with American shooters, just as the 1911 had. It’s an undisputed fact that civilians like to arm themselves with the same or at least similar firearms of their country’s military. Part of arming yourself like the military can extend beyond the firearm to the ammunition. Afterall, if you want to have the same gun as our soldiers, wouldn’t you want to be able to load it with the same ammo? Well, thanks to Winchester, now you can.

Selected to serve as the ammunition supplier for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun (MHS) program, Winchester proudly developed the M1152 load to serve alongside the U.S. Warfighter. M1152 delivers the accuracy and reliability required by the MHS program, and this ammunition will be offered in 100- or 150-round boxes under the new Winchester Active Duty brand. This 9 mm load features a 115-grain flat-nose FMJ bullet with a muzzle velocity of 1,320 fps and a muzzle energy of 445 ft.lbs. At 25 yards this ammunition should still retain a velocity of 1,232 fps and a muzzle energy of 387 ft.lbs.

Winchester’s Active Duty 115-grain 9 mm Luger ammunition is the perfect match to the civilian version of the MHS, which is also known as the P320-M17 from SIG Sauer. This ammunition is Loaded to U.S. military M1152 specifications for improved cycling and reliability. It also utilizes a highly accurate range projectile with a special engineered profile to ensure reliable feeding. And, this ammunition is built to exacting specifications for shot-to-shot consistency. For more information visit winchester.com
