Hatsan USA has introduced a new pair of Escort Slugger pump-action shotguns at the SHOT Show 2020. Both 12 gauges can chamber 3-inch shells and come with a fixed cylinder choke. Their 18-inch hard-chrome-plated steel barrels are oxidation proof and each has an alloy receiver that sports a tough and businesslike black finish.

Both shotguns have fixed blade front sights that are large and easy to find in low light. Studs on the firearms allow for effortless sling mounting. They come with a polymer stock and fore-end with textured grip panels for positive purchase in inclement weather. The guns have soft rubber recoil pads, cross-button trigger safety and tubular 5-shotshell capacity magazines.

Slugger, the base model in the series, has an overall length of 38 inches and weighs 6.4 pounds. MSRP comes in at $209.99.

The Slugger Tact version features a pistol grip and a five-shotshell holder built into the buttstock to keep reloads handy. A Picatinny accessory rail up front—at the bottom of the fore-end—can accept weaponlights or other accessories. Length is still 38 inches, although weight goes up slightly to 6.5 pounds. MSRP is $219.99.

The company has a long list of home-defense shotguns, including its introduction last year of the Escort MPA. Each come with a five-year limited warrantee and covers manufacturing and material defects for a period of 60 months for the original purchaser. Parts and labor for the first year are included in the agreement, and the firm will supply replacement parts for the next four—assuming the firearm has not been modified or otherwise damaged due to misuse.

Escort shotguns are produced by Hatsan Arms Company, a Turkey-based manufacturer that handles virtually all facets of the firearm manufacturing itself, including wood, metal machining, heat treatment, plating, bluing, coatings and more. The company has 650 employees working in its CNC equipped and ISO 9001 certified Turkish factory, with more handling its U.S. operations and sales out of Bentonville, AR.
