Compared to the Ruger 10/22 Tactical, which is outfitted with the same barrel length, the modular stock on the 10/22 Compact is 2.25 inches shorter, featuring a 12.5-inch length-of-pull that brings smaller users closer to the trigger and provides them with a comfortable fit as they train. A reduced comb height also ensures that shooters can easily place themselves behind the iron sights on the rifle. When young shooters are ready to move up to the next size, separate modules that adjust length-of-pull and comb height can be ordered from Ruger.
Each Ruger 10/22 Compact is outfitted with many of the same features that made the rifle popular over the last half-century. Built on an alloy-steel receiver, the rifle is equipped with a 16.12-inch, six-groove barrel featuring a 1:16-inch right-hand twist rate. The sights on the rifle are built with fiber-optic inserts that provide a high-visibility aiming point, and the rear sight leaf is adjustable for windage and elevation.
