At the beginning of 2018, Bergara announced it was enhancing aspects of its popular B-14 HMR to create the all-new Premier HMR Pro series rifle, providing consumers with a number of extra features for precision shooting.

“In my 19 years of working in the industry, I have never been questioned so frequently about the arrival date of a new product, and I absolutely love seeing that enthusiasm," said Nate Treadaway, CEO of BPI Outdoors. “I believe that the rifle fills a much needed niche for high-performance at a reasonable price point, and the initial excitement certainly seems to substantiate this.”

Designed as an upgraded model of the unique B-14 HMR precision rifle, The Premier HMR Pro rifle is built with the same stock design as the original rifle. The stock features an injection-molded polymer exterior that's reinforced by an internal chassis system. However, that's where many of the similarities end between these two guns.

The Bergara Premier HMR Pro rifle is built with the company's all-new Bergara Premier action, machined from stainless steel and paired with one of the company's legendary Bergara barrels machined from 416 stainless steel. Both the action and the barrel are given a hand-painted Cerakote finish for additional durability and weather resistance.

Inside the action, consumers will find a floating bolt head along with a quick-detach firing-pin mechanism. This allows users to remove the entire firing-pin assembly from the bolt with a quick quarter-turn of the unit. Also found inside the action is a TriggerTech trigger that's built with the company's trademarked Frictionless Release Technology for an unmatched trigger pull.

Each Bergara Premier HMR Pro rifle accepts Remington 700 scope bases and are compatible with all AICS-pattern magazines. The stock is adjustable for comb height and length-of-pull, ensuring that shooters can build the perfect stock fit for their body type. Two sling-swivel mounts are located on the underside of the fore-end and one is located on the underside of the rifle butt. The stock also incorporates quick-detach sling-swivel mounting points on either side at both the front and back.

Every Premier HMR Pro rifle is shot at the factory to ensure that it produces sub-MOA accuracy, and a test target ships with each gun. Caliber options include .223 Rem., 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win., .22-250 Rem. and 6 mm Creedmoor. The rifles are shipping now and retail at a suggested MSRP of $1,715.
