Weaver, a division of Vista Outdoor, launched its all-new Premium MSR Mount, designed to provide an ideal mounting surface for optics designed specifically for use on modern sporting rifles.

The Weaver Premium MSR Mount is, according to the company, constructed to the best possible standards for a one-piece optics mount. The unit is constructed using 7075-T6 aluminum, which includes double recoil lugs designed to ensure that there is no possibility of movement once the unit is locked down onto the rail. In addition, the mount is designed to provide users with the ideal mounting height for AR-specific optics, as well as provide a forward-leaning cantilever that allows users to place the optic at the best possible point for optimum eye relief.

Other features of the construction of the Premium MSR Mount include edges that have been dehorned, providing users with a mount that won't easily snag on clothing, branches and other objects on the range or in the field. The mount is secured to the rail through the use of three separate No. 25 Torx-head crossbolts that are set in place with the inclusion of steel-threaded inserts that ensure a solid mounting surface for any optic.

At the top of the Weaver Premium MSR Mount, two rings secure the optic to the base. The rings themselves feature lightening cutouts, and the base features machined reliefs underneath the rings in order to reduce overall weight. In total, the mount weighs in at only 6 ounces. Finally, the entire MSR Mount is finished in a Type III hard-coat anodized black finish that allows it to match up with the finish commonly found on commercial AR-15 rifles.

The Weaver Premium MSR Mount is available with 1-inch, 30 mm and 34 mm rings, giving it the versatility to fit most common optic tubes on the market today. The suggested retail price for the 1-inch and 30 mm models is $119.95, while the 34 mm model retails at a suggested price of $129.95.
