Taurus USA is releasing a new duty-size, striker-fired G3 Tactical Pistol chambered in 9 mm. The Taurus G3 Tactical distinguishes itself from the standard Taurus G3 as it comes standard with a fully finished and cerakoted “T.O.R.O. Patriot Brown” slide. The Taurus G3 Tactical slide is also equipped with suppressor-height front and rear sights and is pre-milled, making it optics ready from the factory. The Taurus G3 Tactical’s polymer frame features a Magpul flat dark earth hue; the dust cover also has a standard Picatinny rail for use with accessories. The G-Series Trigger System has a two stage flat faced trigger that provides a light take-up with a distinct wall, crisp break and short reset capabilities.
The acronym T.O.R.O. stands for “Taurus Optic Ready Options.” Taurus designed their factory optic mounting plates to be interchangeable amongst the four most common electronic red-dot sight footprints such as the Trijicon RMR/Holosun, the Burris FastFire/Vortex Venom, the C-More STS2, and the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro. The Taurus G3 Tactical’s barrel is diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated providing an extremely durable finish and is cut with 1/2x28 threads to accept suppressors. Out of the box, the handgun includes a thread protector and two magazines that either hold 17 or 10 rounds depending on the region where the handgun is purchased.
