For 2024, SOG Knives is unveiling the new SOG Diverge XR series, which consist of a folding pocket knife uses a Wharncliffe (or sheepsfoot) blade profile encased inside of a machined aluminum grip along with the SOG XR locking mechanism.

Three different models make up the new SOG Diverge XR series, with their only difference being their color schemes to best suit the preferences of SOG’s customers. These include an all-black model, with a blackened blade and grip, the Forest Green Model that has a blackened blade and green grip and the Light Blue Model which has a golden hued blade and a light electric blue grip.

The Diverge XR series 3-inch blade is built from a 2.4 mm thick piece of D2 tool steel for increased blade strength and robustness. It uses a Wharncliffe blade profile, which along with that thicker spine, enables the user to take advantage of a very sturdy knife optimized for all manner of cutting tasks. In addition to this, its off-center point helps the user with precision cutting tasks such as skinning or dressing game where having a knife with a more centered point (like a drop point or clip point) increases the risk of piercing during cutting operations. This blade locks and unlocks by way of SOG’s XR mechanism along with dual thumb studs found on either side for ambidextrous hand opening. The Diverge XR grip is textured for a sure grip across all outdoor conditions and accepts a convenient pocket clip
