Cold Steel Recon XL Folding Knife

Cold Steel recently showcased a new folding knife, the Cold Steel Recon XL. This larger-sized folding knife measures 12.25 inches overall and has a clip-point blade manufactured from XHP/CPM steel. The blade measures 5.25 inches and is finished with a matte black PVC coating and is 3.8mm thick. Backing up this massive blade is Cold Steel’s Tri-Ad locking mechanism that helps secure the blade in place during strenuous use.

The Recon XL’s clip point profile is reminiscent of the classic Bowie knife profile which makes it practical for a wide variety of cutting and utility applications. The handle is made from G10 and features a prominent choil to protect the user’s hand from slipping forward. The size of the Cold Recon XL means it can take on a variety of cutting tasks including some that may not be suitable for smaller folding knives such as chopping wood.
