Tennessee Edition of an S&W pistol

Smith & Wesson is one of the largest and oldest names in American firearms. Over the past year, the storied gunmaker has been busy relocating from its historic Springfield, MA, home to Maryville, TN. To celebrate the company’s fresh start in a different and freer state, Smith & Wesson has just made available some special “Tennessee editions” of its most popular flagship polymer-frame, striker-fired pistols: the M&P9 M2.0 series along with the M&P9 Shield Plus series.

“M&P striker-fired pistols have remained a cornerstone of Smith & Wesson’s legacy over the years and embody our brand’s ethos of reliability, performance, and durability. These extensions proudly bearing the engraved Tri-Star emblem are a tribute to our historic move and the rich heritage of our new home in Tennessee,” said Andrew Gore, Product Manager, Handguns.

Smith & Wesson’s new “Tennessee Specials” line-up consists of four different 9mm handguns, and all include a laser-engraved rendering of Tennessee’s Tri-Star emblem on the side of the barrel over the chamber area. The four different M&P models include two “standard” width double-stack, striker-fired guns along with two “slimline” micro-compact handguns. On the double-stack side, there is a full-size M&P9 M2.0 along with a compact M&P9 M2.0. Both of these pistols include thumb safeties, suppressor-height back-up iron sights and Smith & Wesson’s CORE factory mounting optics plate system. The micro-compacts consist of two M&P Shield Plus 9 mm pistols with 3.1-inch barrels. One has a thumb safety, while the other does not. Both of the “Tennessee special” M&P Shields also include slides that are factory cut for slide mounted optics.
