Weatherby backcountry rifles

Weatherby Firearms is expanding the popular Backcountry line of bolt-action hunting rifles with the addition of two new models: the new Weatherby Mark V Backcountry Guide and the Guide Ti. The Mark V Backcountry Guide has a  weight of 5.9 pounds and the Backcountry Guide Ti has a weight of 5.1 pounds, due to it's lighter, titanium-based action. These bolt action hunting rifles are designed for rugged backcountry activities in very technical and mountainous terrain. Because of this, the new Weatherby Mark V Guide and Guide Ti actions have carbon-fiber-wrapped BSF barrels and sit over Peak 44 Blacktooth carbon-fiber stocks. The actions also include a TriggerTech trigger, which is adjustable down to a 2.5 pound pull weight and has a zero-creep break. These rifles are also made from precision cut stainless steel in order to prevent potential corrosion issues when hunting in inclement weather.

Both the new Weatherby Mark V Backcountry Guide and Guide Ti models are available in 18 different sub-variants that include a range of rifle cartridge chamberings, including five left-handed actions for left-handed hunters. Weatherby’s selection of available calibers includes some of its own unique Weatherby-style cartridges designed by the great Roy Weatherby, other classic cartridges and some of the latest high-tech calibers to reach the market.

The list of available calibers includes:

  • .240 Wby. Mag.
  • .243 Win.
  • .257 Wby. Mag.
  • .280 Ackley Improved
  • .300 Wby. Mag.

My friend and I have a few different handguns we use on a regular basis. Some are for competition, some are for personal defense, some are for casual shooting and I even hunt big game with a handgun.
