German Precision Optics is entering the red-dot scope market with their new SPECTRAdot Red Dot Scope. The scope is designed to meet the needs of both tactical shooters and hunters who require rapid target acquisition precise close-range shots using either a tactical rifle, sporting rifle or a shotgun.

The high-efficiency power management of the SPECTRAdot optic is built on a battery runtime of up to 50,000 hours using a CR2032 battery. The optic has a mount that can be used with either Weaver or Picatinny-style rails. There are precise ½ MOA windage and elevation click adjustments on the optic and it is waterproof rated to the IPX 7 standard. The dot inside is 3 MOA and can be adjusted for brightness with six daytime and five nighttime settings, enabling you to use the SPECTRAdot in a variety of lighting conditions.

Red-dot sights have long a favorite sighting system for law enforcement and military personnel especially on the AR platform. Now, however, they have also been finding favor with more and more niche hunters. An example of this might be a guide in Alaska who mounts a red dot on his large-caliber back-up rifle for use in thick cover, as well as a turkey hunter who has found that a red-dot sight is a much more accurate and quick sighting system than traditional front bead or post-and-notch-type sighting systems.

The GPO SPECTRAdot sight measures 2.53 inches long by 1.4 inches tall by 1.78 inches wide and weighs 6.63 ounces without lens covers and mount. The optic includes an instruction manual, cleaning cloth, Allen key, objective and ocular lens caps, and a low-profile Picatinny/Weaver mount.

MSRP for the GPO SPECTRAdot  is $399.99, and for more information on this scope and other items from German Precision Optics, please visit gpo-usa.com.
