Apex Tactical Specialties is taking order for their much-anticipated 5-inch long slide for the FN 509, starting on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
The new custom slide is designed by Apex’s engineering team and manufactured at the company’s state-of-the-art Arizona manufacturing facility and is packed with features. The fully machined slide is optics ready with the RMR pattern cut, and the slides will be available in stainless or black Melonite finish. The slides are also lightened to mimic factory slide mass with both front and rear cocking serrations and features front and rear sight dovetails that will accept FN sights.
The slide comes fully assembled with Apex’s Heavy Duty Striker, an Apex Failure Resistant Extractor and an Apex premium hammer-forged 9 mm barrel with a 1:10-inch twist rate. Users can select between a standard length 5-inch barrel or a 1/2-28 threaded barrel with thread protector and captive O-ring when they order. All internal slide components and a yellow recoil assembly are included, and the slide comes complete, fully assembled and ready to shoot, right from Apex Tactical.
While the slide is red dot ready, it comes shipped with either standard height XS 3-Dot night sights or suppressor-height sights with a black rear sight and front sight, depending on the customer’s preference.
