One of the most competitive segments of the firearms accessory business is that of optical sights. This is partly because the modern rifle, whether it be a precision rifle or an AR-15 type rifle, is not complete without an optical sight, and partly because there is a wide mix of features that can be included in a riflescope. Shooters are particular about what they like so we end up with lots of optical sights to choose from. If you’re looking for a variable powered, somewhat traditional-style riflescope for a tactical rifle, one company you should not overlook is TruGlo. Their new for 2020 Tru-Brite 30 Series riflescope has a lot of features you might find appealing.

For starters this is a 3-9x42 mm riflescope, built on a one-piece tube constructed from aircraft grade aluminum. It is available with a dual-color, illuminated Duplex Mil-Dot reticle to assist with trajectory and wind compensation, and the illumination control is of the rheostat type allowing for precise brightness adjustment. The scope also comes standard with a locking target turret with 1/4-MOA adjustments and is shipped with a pre-calibrated dial for the .223 Rem. and the .308 Win. Flip-up lens caps are standard, and get this: The scope comes with a reversible, off-set, monolithic, CNC-machined scope mount.

Some other features that should get your attention include a generous 4 inches of eye relief, glass-etched reticle and a high-profile throw lever. All this means that you can take this riflescope out of the box and mount it directly to the rail on top of your MSR. Once zeroed, you can pop on one of the pre-calibrated turrets and you're ready to engage targets up close and a ways out there. That’s not bad at all for a riflescope with a suggested retail price of only $399.
