Sometimes the key to success in shooting lies not just in the shooter’s skill, natural ability, nor amount of practice. Accurate shooters also need good equipment to transfer that talent and training into accurate shots. This means equipment that is sited and adjusted to exacting specifications.

Lyman, long known for their precision gunsmithing tools and accessories, introduced the new Torque Wrench this year at SHOT Show. While this is certainly not as sexy as a new gun, new optic or other gear that might garner more fanfare, a good torque wrench is critical to accurate adjustments so everything else performs at its peak.

Stripping threads can mean disaster, especially on the range, if you are sighting in a scope or adjusting critical mounting hardware. One wrong twist with too much pressure and your day of fun may come to an abrupt end as your precision equipment no longer works the way it is intended. These mistakes can be expensive, too, if you have to replace parts.

To select the correct amount of torque for your project, simply twist the orange collar to the correct setting and get to work.

Lyman’s Torque Wrench takes up as much space as a medium-sized screwdriver and slides conveniently into a range bag or rifle case pocket for easy access on the go. And at $94.97, you can afford to keep one on your home workbench for tinkering in your garage.
