First Look: Kestrel 2700 Ballistics Weather Meter

Kestrel Ballistics is now producing the Kestrel 2700 Ballistics Weather Meter, designed for single-gun, single-target applications. The 2700 is a standalone field ballistics device that is ideal for beginner long-range shooters and hunters seeking to push out farther.

With its back-to-basics approach and powerful and effective results, the Kestrel 2700 provides all the critical data you need for fast, precise shooting solutions at the range or on the hunt. This easy-to-use and budget-friendly solution combines a  weather meter and ballistics calculator, along with superior all-weather durability. The display on the 2700 is easy to read in a variety of lighting conditions, and its long battery life means it will keep on working throughout the day.

The data for your specific rifle and round is entered on the free LiNK Ballistics app, and then loaded into the standalone 2700, freeing your smartphone for other purposes. The real-time wind and environmental conditions at the shooting location are captured into the 2700 with just a few button presses. The target distance is then entered, and the firing solution is automatically updated to give you accurate data for dead-on aim at long-distance shots.
