First Look: American Tactical 60-Round AR-15 Magazine

Keeping your AR-15 topped off is important, especially for competitors in 3-Gun or people who rely on their AR-15 to keep them alive. While the AR-15’s 30-round standard-capacity magazine works well in most situations, sometimes, you need a few more shots (or a lot more shots) in between magazine changes, and that’s where the new S60 60 round polymer AR magazine from American Tactical can come in handy.

American Tactical has partnered with German arms manufacturer Schmeisser GmbH to exclusively import and distribute the Schemisser S60 60 round AR-15 magazine. Made from glass-reinforced polymer, this patent-pending magazine features a unique follower system that allows for double capacity from a normal AR magazine without being bulky or cumbersome.  Designed to shoot both .223 Rem. and 5.56 NATO, the Schmeisser S60 will give you an instant capacity upgrade over a standard-capacity magazine at an affordable price for your AR-pattern firearm.

One of the other benefits of this magazine design is that it's thinner than popular drum-style AR-15 magazines, which can be bulky, cumbersome and hard to carry and load. The stick-style construction of the Schmeisser S60 makes handling and carrying just like any other AR-pattern stick mag.

The S60 is the world's first patented 60-round polymer stick magazine for the AR/M4 platform. While the S60 is designed to work with guns chambered in 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem., testing performed by Schmeisser & American Tactical has shown that the S60 may not operate with all types of .300 Blackout ammo. Due to inconsistencies with different brands, Schmeisser does not recommend using .300 Blackout with the S60.

MSRP is $69.95, and more information on the S60 Polymer magazine is available at www.americantactical.us.
