New for 2019: Dan Wesson DWX

Teams at Dan Wesson Firearms and CZ-USA worked to blend elements from popular guns in each company's lineup to create an all-new design: the Dan Wesson DWX. This unique blend of Dan Wesson 1911 with the classic CZ-75 is available right from the start in 9mm and .40 S&W and can be had in full-size and compact models, which allows it to serve in roles ranging from competition to concealed carry.

The DWX features a crisp, single-action, fire control group from a Dan Wesson 1911 and combines it with the ergonomics and capacity of a CZ pistol. The grip angle and contours of the gun are inspired by and derived from the classic CZ-75, which means that the gun is designed to fit comfortably into the hands of most shooters.

In addition, the similarity in grip design ensures that the
full-size DWX is compatible with standard CZ-75 grips, while the compact model of the DWX is compatible with grips designed for the  CZ-75 Compact. The l
ow-profile red aluminum grips that are included on factory guns were added to help drive the shooter's hand high in the beavertail, and the texturing on the grip is designed to anchor the gun in a shooter's hand.

Each Dan Wesson DWX sports a locked-breech barrel system for simplicity and features a CZ-style takedown via the slide stop. The DWX also employs double-stack magazines that allow for a 19+1 capacity in the full-size variant. When it comes to feeding the DWX, the full-size model uses a magazine based on the P-09/P-10, while the compact models are compatible with CZ-75 Compact magazines.

An ambidextrous safety delivers easy access to right- and left-handed shooters, while a flat, K-style trigger features a textured face that ensures a shooter's trigger finger remains in-place for the most consistent shot break every time. In addition, frontstrap checkering aids in grip control, while a Picatinny rail located on the frame makes easy work of mounting a light or laser.

The combined team of CZ and Dan Wesson designers also ensured that the DWX remained versatile and customizable, making it ideal for competition use. The sighting system on the gun uses a 1911-style dovetail front sight and CZ Shadow 2-style rear sight, ensuring that it's compatible with a wide range of aftermarket sights. The match-grade barrel with a bushing-free barrel system resembles that of the P-10/P-09/P-07 and is designed to provide shooters with enhanced accuracy and precision.
