Some of the most popular concealed-carry and duty guns on the market can be found in the Smith & Wesson M&P lineup. From the single-stack Shield configuration to the double-stack, duty-size M&P M2.0 handguns, there are many caliber and configuration options in the M&P lineup that appeal to today's armed citizens. However, the company's never had a double-stack M2.0 subcompact model on the level of the Glock G26. Until now.

Smith & Wesson
announced in late 2019 that it had introduced the M&P M2.0 Subcompact pistol to its product lineup. The latest addition to the M2.0 family, the M&P M2.0 Subcompact pistol features a smaller, subcompact frame that’s sized right for concealed carry. With a 12+1 round capacity in 9mm, the M&P M2.0 Subcompact pistol series includes the full array of M&P M2.0 features, including an enhanced trigger and improved grip texturing. The new model is available in 9 mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.

“As the M&P M2.0 pistol series has continued to expand, we have worked to introduce pistols that fit a variety of different needs: from professional use, to recreational shooting, to home defense, to concealed carry," said Jan Mladek, general manager of Smith & Wesson and M&P brands. "The M&P M2.0 Subcompact is designed for every day carry–its shorter frame makes it more concealable while still maintaining a higher double-stack magazine capacity. One constant across the M&P M2.0 series–whether it’s a full size, compact, or subcompact–is the legendary reliability and shootability of the M&P pistol.

The M&P M2.0 Subcompact pistols ship with two magazines, including two magazine extender sleeves for use with M2.0 full-size and compact magazines, as well as a limited warranty and lifetime service policy. The new M&P M2.0 Subcompact is available with or without an ambidextrous thumb safety, with an MSRP starting at $569. The pistol has a barrel measuring 3.6 inches long and an overall length of 6.6 inches. Total weight of the gun, unloaded, is 25 ounces. The pistol is also equipped with all-steel, three-dot sights, while the slide and barrel are made from stainless steel and treated with the company's Armornite finish.
