Micro reflex optics are all the rage in today's market, sized right for use on pistols, rifle and shotguns alike. However, when it comes to mounting smaller optics on long guns, some consumers may prefer to have a slightly wider optic window than is possible on many of today's micro sights, and that's where the Sightmark Core Shot A-Spec reflex optic comes in.

Size-wise, the Core Shot A-Spec optic options fall in between small-sized reflex optics and the larger 30 mm tubes that make up many traditionally constructed red dots available. The larger size allows the company to provide enhanced performance and added strength, thanks to a robust housing machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. Straight from the box, the sight ships with a riser designed for use on today's modern sporting rifles, placing the dot at the perfect height to co-witness with standard iron sights. Each optic is powered by a single CR2032 battery housed in a convenient access point that allows for quick changing of batteries.

Each Sightmark Core Shot A-Spec optic option is rated IP55 water-resistant and can handle recoil from guns chambered up to and including .50 BMG. The built-in rheostat provides eight different daytime brightness settings for the 5-MOA red dot and two night-vision settings. Depending on the brightness selection chosen, battery life ranges from 20 hours to 1,400 hours. The optic is adjustable for windage and elevation, providing 100 MOA of adjustment in each axis. For a clear field of view, the Core Shot A-Spec is equipped with a 28 mm X 18 mm optical window, and the overall size of the optic is 2.3 inches long, 1.2 inches wide and 2.2 inches high.

Consumers can choose between the Sightmark Core Shot A-Spec FMS or LQD models, depending on whether or not a quick-detach Picatinny rail mount is desired. The suggested retail price on the FMS model is $155.99, and the LQD model retails at a suggested price of $179.99.
