After examining a market loaded with a near-limitless number of AR-15 variations, the engineering team at DoubleStar saw a need for a well-balanced rifle with the perfect combination of accuracy, weight and durability. Toward that end, the new DoubleStar ZERO Carbine came into being.

What sets the DoubleStar ZERO Carbine apart from other options in the AR-15 market can be found at the heart of the gun: the barrel. Rather than relying on a standard, Government-profile barrel and slapping another fancy handguard around it, DoubleStar went with a premium-grade Wilson Air Gauged heavy barrel. Measuring 16 inches long and featuring a 1:8-inch twist rate, the barrel is machined from stainless steel and designed to offer shooters an ideal combination of precision and handling.

At the muzzle-end of the gun, consumers will find the company's Alpha Compensator design, which prevents muzzle rise and allows for easy follow-up shots and target transitioning. The barrel is surrounded by DoubleStar's Cloak handguard, which measures 15 inches long and allows cool air to flow across the barrel, keeping it cool during long strings of fire. The handguard is compatible with all M-Lok accessory attachments.

Moving back to the receiver and stock, users will find the DoubleStar ZERO Carbine outfitted with an Ergo Ambi Sure Grip, as well as an ACE SOCOM stock. Other features found on the rifle include an enlarged trigger guard for use with gloved hands, a billet charging handle, mil-spec trigger and the company's "enhanced extraction system," offering an overbuilt extractor designed to handle use and abuse.

The suggested retail price on the ZERO Carbine is $1,479.99.
