First Look: Vanguard Endeavor RS VII Illuminated Riflescope

Developed to provide a all-around optic option for hunters and shooters across the world, the Vanguard Endeavor RS VII illuminated riflescope offers multiple benefits that are aimed at ensuring peak performance for shooters in any environment.

The Vanguard Endeavor RS VII provides users with up to a 7X magnification factor on the high end, while the low end provides users with a true 1X magnification for fast and easy target acquisition at closer ranges. The Endeavor stands out in the market for its use of a 44 mm objective lens, which is unique in the market of 1X riflescopes. The company claims that this expands low-light performance capabilities over similar power optics with objective lens diameters measuring 24 mm or 36 mm.

Each Vanguard Endeavor riflescope is constructed with HOYA ED glass, which is treated with the company's Multiguard lens coating in order to improve image resolution, clarity, color definition and light transmission. The lenses are inset into a 30 mm main-body tube that is machiend from 6061 bar-stock aluminum and finished with a hard-anodized treatment for resistance to corrosion and harsh environments. The tube features windage and adjustment turrets that offer 0.25 MOA click adjustments.

The optic uses a rapid-focus eyepiece that allows for quick and precise fine-tuned adjustments. The scope bods nitrogen-purged and sealed against penetration from moisture, dust and other debris. Each riflescope from the company ships with a protective cover constructed from neoprene, flip-up lens covers and a lens cloth for scratch-free cleaning.

Vanguard offers several different reticle options that are tailor-made for shooters who expect to use the optics for a specific hunting or shooting situation. The company's classic German No. 4 reticle is perfect for big-game hunting, while new Vanguard Dispatch TAC556 ballistic reticle is designed to provide quick and easy target acquisition at any operational distance, calibrated with a 100-yard zero and providing aiming points for targets ranging from 0-600 yards.

The company's second focal plane reticles can be used in conjunction with Vanguard's online ballistic calculator, available at the company's website. Two different models are available in the new Vanguard Endeavor lineup. The 1-7x44 mm German No. 4 optic retails at a suggested price of $599.99, while the 1-7x44 mm Dispatch TAC556 sells at a suggested price of $699.99.
