SureFire added new features to its lineup of Scout Lights, which provide rifle owners with a compact flashlight that mounts easily to their gun's fore-end and provides trouble-free easy illumination. The M312 Scout Light is one of the updated models in the company's lineup.

The M312 Scout Light is constructed with an LED that provides users with up to 300 lumens of white light, ensuring that targets are illuminated and identified clearly and easily. The construction of the lens allows the light to be directed into a beam that reaches out far enough for an effective range while still ensuring that users have illumination at their peripherals to prevent any surprises.

The light comes with SureFire's rugged, low-profile RM45 mount, allowing users to put the light into an off-set position 45 degrees from the rail surface on which the unit is mounted. To activate the M312 Scout Light, a DS07 waterproof switch is also included, which features a pressure pad that allows for push-button activation. The pad also provides a system-disable feature, along with an ST07 momentary-on remote switch. The pad is connected to the light via a 7-inch cable.

The light itself features a body that is built using aircraft-grade aluminum, which features an anodized finish that meets military specifications and ensures the light can withstand combat conditions. Other features of the construction include O-ring seals that ensure protection against the elements, as well as an LED assembly that can withstand a tremendous amount of abuse. The light operates off two CR123A batteries, which are shelf-stable for up to 10 years, ensuring that users can keep an ample supply on hand.

The total run time for the light is 1.5 hours. The light body itself measures 4.9 inches long, with a bezel diameter of 1.125 inches. The total weight of the light is 5.9 ounces. The suggested retail price on the SureFire M312 Scout Light is $476.19.
