Renowned knifemaker Ken Onion designed the new Humdinger knife for one particular purpose: bear hunting. The new design from CRKT came about during a bear hunt in the wilds of Alaska, and Onion felt the need for a particular style of knife to deal with the realities of rugged country.

The new Humdinger features a big-bellied blade design, along with a large handle and a total black-oxide finish designed for rugged durability. The 6-inch blade is designed for optimum use in field-dressing large game animals, such as Alaskan Grizzly bears.

The handle is constructed from a textured thermoplastic polyeurethane designed to provide grip, even in wet environments. The knife features simple designs that feature few aesthetic touches. The bare-bones look is meant for real-world use, not for showing off.

The blade itself is made from 65Mn carbon steel and features a thickness of 0.18 inches. The overall length of the knife is 11.5 inches, and the total weight is 9.4 ounces. The knife is sold with a sheath made from polypropylene. The sheath weighs in at 5.4 ounces. The suggested retail price on the new CRKT Humdinger is $89.99.
